The problem
Help in LA County is scattered.
Ten million people live in LA County. Thousands of programs exist to help them. But every program has its own door, its own forms, its own hours, and its own waiting list, and no one to hold your hand.
So if you need childcare, a food bank, and help with rent makes three trips, tells her story three times, and gets three different answers. Most people give up somewhere around the second door.

Everything lives in one record you can see and control. Your team knows what has been tried, what is next, and who is responsible, so nothing falls through the gaps between programs. That is what Amanda needed. It is what we are building.
Who Amanda was
The story behind Amanda's House.
Amanda’s life, documented through Soft White Underbelly, brought national attention to the realities of addiction, mental health, homelessness, and the challenges of rebuilding a life without consistent support. Amanda was more than the circumstances she faced. She was a young woman with personality, potential, and a future worth fighting for. Her story inspired millions of people as she openly shared her struggles and worked toward recovery.
Amanda passed away at just 25 years old, after years of living with addiction and homelessness. Her story left a lasting impact and inspired a simple idea: people need more than housing. They need safety, connection, opportunity, and a community that believes in their ability to move forward.
Amanda’s House was created to make the kind of support Amanda found later in life more accessible to others, when they need it most. We currently serve communities across Los Angeles County, with a vision to expand nationwide.
